How to Submit Materials

Call for Submissions

You are invited to submit several types of materials for possible publication on this site in order to promote universal design within schools and other institutions. We welcome:

The teaching materials will be peer-reviewed using the Selection Criteria for Teaching Materials listed below. The resources and opportunities for learning and participation will be reviewed by the site editors using the Selection Criteria for Announcements listed below.

Anyone can submit materials. This is not a competition but an opportunity to share the widest range of strategies for teaching and learning. Please refer to the list of Types of Materials Invited to see what kinds of submissions we would like to receive.

If you are planning on submitting materials at some point in the future, we would appreciate it if you would please fill out an Online Letter of Intent.

Selection Criteria for Teaching Materials

All submissions of teaching materials will be reviewed by a panel of educators with expertise in universal design. The criteria for selection will be:

  1. The intent of the instructor is clearly expressed.
  2. The purpose of the activity is clearly expressed.
  3. The submission clearly uses a universal design approach and is not about minimal compliance with accessibility standards.
  4. The content is presented in a way that another person would understand the purpose and process of the experience.
Everyone who submits materials, whether or not they are selected for publication, will receive written feedback from the panel of reviewers based on these criteria.

Selection Criteria for Announcements

All submissions of resources and opportunities to learn or participate will be reviewed by the editors of this site. The criteria for selection will be:

  1. The content is appropriate to this site.
  2. The information is complete and accurate.
